Meghan Duffy, Career Coach LLC (“I,” “me,” or “my”) is a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Washington, operated from Massachusetts. This page explains how I collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit meghan-duffy.com or use my coaching services. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of this site and these services.
In this Privacy Policy, “personal information” means information that enables you to be identified or recognized. With respect to California residents, references to “personal information” mean information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household, subject to certain exceptions set forth in the California Consumer Privacy Act (the “CCPA”). I will not sell or disclose personal information about you to unaffiliated third parties except as described in this policy.
Section 2: Information I Collect
Although you are not required to provide any personal information on the public areas of this site, you may choose to do so by completing certain contact or marketing forms. Should you do so, I may keep a record of your name, email address, and any other information you voluntarily provide.
Additionally, I may collect the following categories of personal information in the course of business, including through your use of this site, when you contact or request information from me, or when I provide services to you. If you choose not to provide such information, you may not be permitted to access certain features, content, or services.
- Identification data, such as name, gender, title, job title, or address.
- Contact information, including your phone number(s), email address, and social media account or handle where appropriate.
- Financial data, such as bank account information and invoicing details.
- Event registration or mailing list data, such as preferences, interests, subscriptions, downloads, and usernames/passwords.
- Other service data, such as personal information relevant to the provision of coaching services, and client feedback.
- Cookie and device data, such as information about your visit to this site, IP address, the pages you visit, times and dates of visits, device type, and location/time zone setting.
I may place “cookies” on your device to recognize you on return visits and enhance your browsing experience. You may adjust your browser settings to prevent cookies, though doing so may reduce functionality.
I may supplement the information you provide with information from other sources, such as publicly available sources.
Section 3: How I Use Your Information

- Addressing inquiries and feedback — identification data, contact details, and other service data, to respond when you contact me.
- Sending relevant updates — identification data, contact details, cookie and device data, and mailing list data, to send newsletters or information about services that may interest you.
- Improving this website — cookie and device data, to improve functionality and user experience.
- Keeping this site and my systems secure — identification data, contact details, financial data, and cookie/device data, to maintain security and prevent fraud.
- Complying with legal or regulatory requirements — identification data, contact details, financial data, and cookie/device data, as necessary to comply with applicable law.
Section 4: Third-Party Service Providers
I may share your personal information with the following categories of recipients:
- To use certain services on this site, payment information may be requested. By submitting payment information, you consent to its sharing with third-party payment processors and service providers.
- Vendors that process your personal information on my behalf under written instructions, such as IT service providers, financial institutions, and cloud-based business tools. I require such vendors to use your information only to provide the specified services and to keep it secure and confidential.
- Any law enforcement, regulatory, or government agency requesting information in connection with a legal or regulatory procedure, or to establish or protect my legal rights or the rights of others.
- Any third party connected with a business transfer, such as a reorganization or sale, provided the receiving party agrees to treat your information consistently with this policy.
Your personal information may also be transferred to or shared with carefully selected service providers in the United States that help me operate this site, which may not be subject to data protection laws identical to those in your jurisdiction. If you are visiting from outside the United States, note that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States; you consent to this by using the site. If you are in the EU, appropriate safeguards are used for any such transfer.
I am not responsible for the data policies of any linked websites. I recommend checking the privacy policy of each site you visit.
Section 5: Cookies and Tracking
This site uses tags, log files, and similar tracking technologies from third parties (collectively, “cookies”).
- Essential cookies — needed to move around the site and use its features.
- Performance and analytics cookies — Google Analytics helps understand how visitors engage with the site, without identifying individual visitors. You may opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
- Functionality cookies — remember choices like language or region, and are deleted automatically when your session ends.

Section 6: Data Retention and Security
I have implemented technical and organizational security measures to safeguard personal information in my custody, including limiting access on a need-to-know basis and other administrative, technical, and physical safeguards.
I take reasonable steps to protect your personal information but cannot guarantee the security of data disclosed online. Email is not a secure medium and should not be used to send confidential or sensitive information. By providing information online, you accept the inherent security risks of the Internet.
I will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected, or as required by applicable legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. If you opt out of marketing communications, your information will be securely deleted from the relevant list.
Section 7: Your Rights
California residents. If you are a California resident, you have the following rights, subject to certain exceptions under the CCPA:
- Right to access the specific pieces of personal information collected about you in the preceding 12 months.
- Right to data portability — a copy of your electronic personal information in a readily usable format.
- Right to know the categories of personal information collected, its sources, the purposes for collection, and any categories disclosed for a business purpose.
- Right to request deletion, subject to certain exceptions (e.g. legal obligations, fraud prevention, completing a transaction).
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

In the preceding 12 months, I have collected identifiers (name, address, email, phone), and internet/network activity (browsing and interaction data) from California residents, obtained directly from you, indirectly through your use of the site, and from publicly available sources. This information has been disclosed to service providers for business purposes. I have not sold any personal information.
Residents of other states. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights, which may include the right to confirm whether I process your personal information, access it, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of certain processing, including targeted advertising, sale of personal information, and certain profiling. Section 8: Children’s Privacy
This site and these services are designed for those 18 years of age and older. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13 (or such other age as may be restricted under local law). If I become aware that I have received such information, I will use reasonable efforts to locate and remove it from my records.
Section 9: Contact Information and Updates
I may send direct marketing messages, including by email. If you no longer wish to receive these, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the relevant communication, or by contacting hello@meghan-duffy.com.
I may occasionally update this Privacy Policy as my services and privacy practices change, or as required by law. Where practicable, I will notify you by email of any significant changes. The last update date is posted at the top of this page.
